Our clients are investors, traders, engineering and transport companies, and public authorities.

Our main services in this area consist in drafting and negotiating mineral and oil & gas concession agreements, licensing agreements, PSAs, EPC contracts, and drilling, service and transshipment contracts.

We also advise on related regulatory and licensing issues, as well as industry-specific corporate and financial law issues, and dispute resolution.


Advised the Russian steel major Severstal on selling Vorkutaugol, a big mining company, to the Russian Energy Group, including by drafting and negotiating a 5-year take or pay coal supply agreement (2021)

Advising a syndicate of lenders, two Top-5 Russian banks and the Russian state development corporation VEB.RF, on financing construction of the first auto-energy plant in Russia. Deal value: ₽32.8 bn (2022-present)

Advising a Russian heavy industry major on a large-scale construction project for a copper concentrating plant complex in Uzbekistan, including drafting an EPC-contract. EPC contract price: $2 bn (2021-2022)

Advising a Russian private investor on a long-term project for increasing the capacity of the Gazli UGS, the largest gas storage facility in Uzbekistan, including additional exploration and development of gas horizons and oil rims of gas fields. Investment volume: up to $1 bn (2018-present)

Advising an investment group on a gas project in Uzbekistan for exploration of a gas field, future production under the terms of a production sharing agreement and construction of a gas chemical complex. Total investment: $5.5 bn (2017-present)

Advising an international investment consortium on all legal aspects of a project for a midterm increase in oil and gas production in Uzbekistan, including drafting 400+ well construction and service contracts, as well as credit documentation. Total investment: $3.9 bn (2017-present)

Advised a leading Russian designer and supplier of power equipment on an engineering, procurement and supply contract in relation to gas turbines for the Amur Gas and Chemical Complex, being jointly constructed by Russia’s Sibur and China’s Sinopec. Contract value: $240 m (2017)

Legal support for projects for construction and subsequent operation of a gas liquefaction terminal at a port on the Baltic Sea, including a pipeline branch, and a natural gas liquefaction facility for supplying liquefied natural gas to end-customers in the Republic of Karelia. Total project value: ₽43 bn+ ($715 m+) (2015-2019)

Providing comprehensive advice to the developer and operator of the port of Vanino in the Far East of Russia on a large-scale investment project for construction of a new coal terminal. Project value: ₽37 bn+ (2018-present)
